The power of one has been something on my mind a lot lately. How far can the power of one stretch? Being that girl who smiles at Siena employees and asks them how they are doing, I know one can at least brighten a day, so how much farther can it stretch?
When I think about who has influenced me in my life, there are a lot of names, but with each name comes individual changes. For example: I would not be taking such drastic chances with my writing if my writing teacher didn’t give off the vibe that she is accepting and tell us to take creative leaps. Or, I would not believe I could do anything I wanted if it wasn’t for a lot of individual conversations that changed me as a person in those moments. **There are too many of you to list!**
But my real question is, can one person make a global difference. I guess this is residing in my mind because this is my goal. And the answer I come up with is sort of. I know, that is a very wishy-washy answer, but I can explain. Leaders can inspire others and their supporting team to pick up the cause that they are advocating for AND if they do a thorough enough job, the difference will be made.
So I guess I have come to the conclusion that yes a person can change the world by themselves but it is never single handedly. Martin Luther King would not be remembered if no one followed him and believed in him, he would just be another man lost to the cause, similar with Ghandi. But these are two people who have shaped our world, and I am hoping to follow in their footsteps by making my own path.
Hope you could follow my thought process, I just had to share! Under is my background on my compare I use as a reminder of what I am going to have to put into this and is a good encourager!
